EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Workshop Teacher - Cumming Campus
-
The Anvil Academy is seeking a full-time Workshop Teacher for our Cumming campus. The Workshop Teacher is a master craftsman and mentor who thrives in "The Barn," excels at teaching the discipline of the tool, and knows how to use the grit of hard work to shape a young man’s character.
-
Who You Are:
A committed follower of Christ, actively growing in personal, spiritual, and professional disciplines.
A relational guide who sees teaching as discipleship—mentoring students in both word and deed.
An innovative, energetic leader who thrives on crafting immersive, high-impact learning adventures.
A collaborator who is flexible, creative, and ready to invest deeply in the Anvil community.
Your Mission:
To utilize the tangible work of the hands to shape the invisible character of the heart. Your mission is to transform the workshop into a session of skill and sweat, where boys learn to respect the tool, master the material, and discover that a man’s greatest project is the life he builds through discipline, resilience, and faith.
What You’ll Do:
Visionary to the Workshop Program: Work to create an intensive workshop program that, through projects, learning, training, and safety, gives students a three-year experience of getting their hands dirty.
Lead Technical Mastery: Deliver high-impact, hands-on instruction in the mechanical and craft arts (wood, metal, fire), guiding students from apprentice to craftsman through the creation of tangible, high-quality projects.
Uphold Shop Stewardship & Safety: Establish a rigorous culture of safety and tool respect, teaching boys that a true craftsman maintains a disciplined workspace and respects the power of the equipment in his hands.
Facilitate Shoulder-to-Shoulder Discipleship: Utilize the grit, sweat, and frustration of the workshop as prime opportunities for spiritual mentorship, forging resilience and character through the work of the hands.
Forge Brotherhood & Problem-Solving: Orchestrate collaborative projects that force the boys to troubleshoot, adapt, and work together, proving that "iron sharpens iron" in both skill and spirit.
