The Anvil Academy Social Media Photo Use Policy
At The Anvil Academy, we are committed to cultivating a safe, respectful, and inspiring environment for our students, families, and staff. As part of our efforts to celebrate and share the life of our community, we frequently use photos and videos on our website, newsletters, and official social media platforms.
This policy outlines our guidelines for the appropriate use of photos and videos:
1. Purpose of Media Use
Photos and videos may be used to:
Highlight student projects, events, and achievements
Share updates and stories with our community
Promote our mission and programs to prospective families and supporters
2. Consent and Permissions
Parental/Guardian Consent: A media use statement is included in the enrollment process. Families may choose to opt in or out of photo/video use.
Student Privacy: We will not use students' full names alongside photos without their explicit permission.
3. Platforms Covered
This policy applies to all media shared on:
The Anvil Academy’s official website
Social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
Printed promotional materials
This policy DOES NOT apply to internal newsletters and presentations for the Anvil community.
4. Media Conduct Guidelines
Photos will reflect the values and mission of The Anvil Academy.
Media will be used to honor and uplift students, not to embarrass or exploit.
Images will not be altered in a way that misrepresents events or individuals.
Staff are trained to capture and share photos that preserve student dignity.
5. Opt-Out Process
Families who prefer their child not be photographed or featured must:
Complete the Media Opt-Out Form annually (see form below)
Understand that we will make every reasonable effort to exclude their child from media, but candid group photos may occasionally include them unintentionally
6. Third-Party Use
Photos taken by The Anvil Academy will not be shared with external organizations without prior permission.
Media from public events may be shared with press or partners, but names and personal details will not be disclosed.
7. Questions or Concerns
Families with concerns or requests related to photo use may contact the school office at info@theanvilacademy.org. We are happy to work with you to ensure your preferences are honored.
The Anvil Academy reserves the right to revise this policy as needed. Our highest priority is the well-being and respect of our students and families as we tell the story of forging men in the way of Jesus.
