Adventure Teacher - Dawsonville Campus
-
The Anvil Academy is seeking a full-time Adventure Teacher for our Dawsonville Campus. The Adventure Teacher is a creative educator and mentor who thrives in outdoor environments, brings history and Scripture to life, and leads with both grit and grace.
-
Who You Are:
A committed follower of Christ, actively growing in personal, spiritual, and professional disciplines.
A relational guide who sees teaching as discipleship - mentoring students in both word and deed.
An innovative, energetic leader who thrives on crafting immersive, high-impact learning adventures.
A collaborator who is flexible, creative, and ready to invest deeply in the Anvil community.
Your Mission:
To design and deliver outdoor, adventure-based learning experiences that inspire boys to grow in wisdom, strength, faith, and brotherhood. Create a culinary lunch program that teaches beginner kitchen skills, encourages imagination and draws influence from the other class sessions to bring those lessons to life.
What You’ll Do (Adventure Class):
Lead Discipleship-Centered Learning: Teach with a love for Scripture, creatively connecting biblical truth to each student’s journey.
Create Active, Adventure-Based Lessons: Use wild spaces, physical challenges, and high-adventure experiences to forge strong young men.
Integrate History and Scripture into Lessons: Integrate historical content that is taught in the “History” session into dynamic, hands-on learning experiences that boys will remember for a lifetime.
Foster Relational Growth: Build strong connections with students, parents, and the Anvil team, cultivating an atmosphere of encouragement and brotherhood.
Manage and Maximize Resources: Plan for and steward an Adventure budget to purchase materials with which you will have creative learning experiences.
Monitor and Communicate Growth: Track student progress, identify areas for support, and engage parents in the learning process.
What You’ll Do (Culinary Class):
Skill-Based Instruction: Lead high-engagement lessons on the basics of kitchen skills, including knife skills, heat management (stovetop, oven, and open flame), and the science of nutrition.
Culinary Lesson Oversight: Facilitate the daily transition from classroom to kitchen, where boys work in small "Cook Groups" to prepare their own midday meals. You will move between groups, offering coaching on technique and teamwork.
Kitchen Command & Safety: Maintain a high standard of "Shop Discipline" in the kitchen. This includes rigorous safety protocols regarding sharp tools, fire safety, and food-borne illness prevention.
Stewardship of the Kitchen/Cookspace: Lead the boys in the after-lunch cleanup. You will teach that a true craftsman leaves his workspace better than he found it, instilling habits of cleaning, organizing, and respecting.
Adventure / Workshop Teacher - Woodstock Campus
-
The Anvil Academy is seeking a full-time Adventure / Workshop Lead Teacher for our Woodstock campus. This leader is a master of the field and the forge who excels at guiding boys through both the technical discipline of "The Barn" and the physical challenges of the wilderness, using every environment to forge a young man’s character, resilience, and faith.

A collaborator who is flexible, creative, and ready to invest deeply in the Anvil community.
Your Mission:
To serve as the "Navigator of the Field and Forge", integrating the rugged discipline of the workshop with the expansive challenge of the outdoor adventure. Your mission is to show young men that the skills they hone at the workbench are the same virtues required to lead on the trail, teaching them to steward God’s creation and their own God-given potential with strength and honor.
What You’ll Do:
Lead Multi-Disciplinary Mastery: Drive high-impact instruction that bridges the gap between building and doing, guiding boys from the technical mastery of wood, metal, and fire in the workshop to the survival, navigation, and endurance skills required in the wild.
Uphold Uncompromising Safety Standards: Maintain a vigilant culture of safety across all environments, ensuring boys respect the power of their tools and the majesty of the wilderness while teaching them to manage risk with a disciplined and watchful spirit.
Facilitate "Grit & Grace" Discipleship: Use the heat of the forge and the exhaustion of the trail as primary opportunities for "shoulder-to-shoulder" mentorship, coaching boys through physical obstacles to address the deeper needs of their hearts and character.
Execute Expeditionary Leadership: Design and lead immersive learning experiences—from complex shop builds to interactions with wilderness —that force boys to troubleshoot, collaborate, and grow in brotherhood while pursuing difficult, meaningful goals.
